President's Message

David Avison, President,
Association for Information Systems
It has been a very busy month for AIS with AMCIS taking place in Toronto, planning for ICIS, and working on our various initiatives. I had an experience that will be familiar to many of you – my paper was rejected (in this case for ICIS Paris). However, I got some excellent feedback from the three referees, associate editor, track chairs and program chairs. It eased the pain as in the end I thought the reasons for rejection were very fair and the suggestions for improvement helpful and constructive. I think that I can use these suggestions to produce a much better paper – maybe one suitable for a journal. To the many of you who had their paper accepted, bravo!
