Awards: AIS Fellows Committee

The AIS Fellows Committee will be constituted on May 1, and will consist of six (6) members made up of: The current Past-President of AIS (who will act as Committee Chair), The President of AIS, The President-Elect of AIS, three members of the existing body of AIS Fellows (at least least one of whom has not previously served on the AIS Fellows Selection Committee. The latter three will be selected by the Chair of the Committee, with the approval of the AIS President.

Awards: Leo Award Committee

The Committee will comprise six standing members.¾ Except in unusual circumstances, the term of office of Committee Members will be two years, with three members rolling off each year.¾ To ensure international coverage, the Committee will comprise two members from each AIS Region. The Committee will be appointed by a Subcommittee of the AIS Council comprising the President (who will chair the Subcommittee), the immediate Past President, and the President Elect.¾ By 1 May each year, the Subcommittee must determine the membership of the Committee, at which time the AIS Administrative Office will declare the membership of the Committee to the Information Systems community.

CSAB Accreditation Board Representative

The Computer Sciences Accreditation Board is a sub-committee of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is a federation of 31 professional engineering and technical societies. CSAB includes representatives from AIS, ACM, and IEEE . There mandate is is the development of accreditation standards. AIS joined ABET starting with the Oct 2001-Sept 2002 year. AIS Council has approved funding through Sept 2004.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Executive Director (ex officio). The President shall serve as chair of the Executive Committee.

Finance Committee

The Council shall determine the members (including the number of members) of the Finance Committee and their terms of membership, provided, however, that (i) the Treasurer, (ii) the ICIS Representative or the immediate past ICIS Executive Committee Chair or Co- Chair, as designated by the ICIS Executive Committee, (iii) a representative of the AMCIS Executive Committee, as designated by the AMCIS Executive Committee and (iv) the Executive Director (ex officio) shall be members of the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee shall include at least one member from each World Region. The number of members of the Finance Committee shall be at least five (5). The Finance Committee shall select the chair of the Finance Committee provided that the Treasurer shall not serve as the chair. The terms of the members shall be staggered, as designated by the Council, to maintain continuity. The Council shall have the right to remove members from the Finance Committee.

ISWorld Web Site Oversight Committee

This committee, appointed by the President on January 31st, 2001 provides oversight for the ISWorld Web site.

Nominating Committee

Nominating Committee appointments are made by the President with the approval of the Council for a term of one year commencing on August 1 of each year. The Nominating Committee shall consist of seven members: the President-Elect, who will serve as chair; the immediate Past President, who represents the World Region from which the next President-Elect will be selected; and five other members, at least one of whom has not served on the Council and including at least one additional member from the World Region from which the President-Elect will be elected in that year. Organization and By-laws Committee

The Council shall determine the members (including the number of members) of the Organization and By-Laws Committee and their terms of membership. The terms of the members shall be staggered, as designated by the Council, to maintain continuity. The Council shall have the right to remove members from the Organization and By-Laws Committee. The Organization and By-Laws Committee shall select the chair of the Organization and By-Laws Committee.

Publications Committee

The Vice President-Publications shall determine the number of members of the Publications Committee and their terms of membership. The number of members of the Publications Committee shall be at least five (5) and shall include at least one member from each World Region. The Vice President-Publications shall recommend the members of the Publications Committee to the Council for approval. The Council, upon the recommendation of the Vice President-Publications, shall have the right to remove members from the Publications Committee. The Vice President- Publications shall serve as the chair of the Publications Committee. The terms of the members shall be staggered, as designated by the Vice President-Publications, to maintain continuity.

Research Conduct Committee

At the request of the President, the Research Conduct Committee shall consider allegations of scholarly misconduct, and especially plagiarism. The Committee shall recommend to AIS Council editorial actions to redress injustices or harm to victims of such misconduct where possible and as appropriate. The Committee may recommend to AIS Council sanctions or other such actions, including expulsion, as may be appropriate against any AIS member found to have committed scholarly misconduct. Members of the committee are Vice President-Meetings and Conferences, Vice President-Publications, and a member appointed by AIS Council.

Technology Innovation Committee

A temporary committee created in Brisbane, December of 2000, to consider how technology is employed by AIS. Targets include, but are not limited to, faculty directory, review system, electronic publishing platforms, distribution list, web site. Can be disbanded by Council or President.

The Association for Information Systems is incorporated in the state of Illinois as a non-profit organization and is exempt from United States federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Registration fees and membership dues paid to AIS are not tax deductible as a charitable contribution but may be deducted as ordinary and necessary business expenses.
