Dennis Galletta, President, Association for Information Systems

My final message as President of AIS

The year has truly raced by, perhaps hastened by a flurry of AIS activity since July 1, 2007, when I took office. I began the year wondering how I could follow Michael Myers’ lead, and the year has now ended before I could figure it all out!

New Features on AISNet!

Discussion Forums

Be a representative of your country on the AIS Discussion Forums! Although AIS has regional representatives on Council, we do not have representatives from each country in the world. These forums will enable you to become involved and raise issues to your council members more directly.

We value your opinions and want to make everyone is represented in our decision making. Please join a discussion today--it's also a great opportunity to chat with other IS professionals about what matters to you.

        Enrollment Wiki

The AIS Enrollment Wiki, at http://enrollments.aisnet.org/, is here, and we have a great team in charge of four main sections. The wiki is currently open to anyone, but in coming months it will be open to AIS members only--another great member benefit. Check it out now and be sure to contribute!

Volunteer Spotlight

What makes AIS amazing? You do. Be sure to check out this monthly feature that recognizes our volunteers and the hard work they do to bring value to the AIS community. Our June spotlight is a double feature! Read about the contributions of SIGHCI co-founders Fiona Nah and Ping Zhang.

Your Point of View

Collaboration is the key to making any association work. Now you can take advantage of your most important member benefit--other AIS members-- by visiting "Your Point of View," as AISNet feature that showcases the thoughts, ideas and suggestions of your peers. The month of May is all about YOU. Click here to find out about Discussion Forums, an exciting video contest (with a CASH prize) and opportunities for you to share projects with the AIS community.
